All Major Payment System Providers such as VISA, ApplePay and Mastercard pulled out of Russia following the invasion of Ukraine at the end of February. This left Russia and its population with only one electronic payment option - the Russian MIR Payment System. Russia has been trying to expand this system overseas into countries such as Turkey and Egypt however following pressure from the USA these countries have now ABANDONED the system due to Fears of SECONDARY SANCTIONS.
